Who Am I?

Born and raised in Washington D.C., with a rich Senegalese heritage, I'm Mariama Diop. My life took an interesting pivot during quarantine, leading me from a background deeply involved in sports to the compelling, often unspoken, connections between media and athletics. My foundational experiences in the Washington Urban Debate League and Mock Trial sparked an enduring interest in law. I currently attend the University of New Haven as a Public Relations and Digital Media major, complementing my studies with minors in Legal Studies and Sports Management. Currently, I'm actively engaged in this intersection as a Social Media Manager for the university's Esports team and serve as a Diversity and Equity Intern at the university's Myatt Center. I am also a Division 1 rugby player. Eager to pursue law school, I'm fascinated by the potential for growth within my career and portfolio as these diverse passions converge.
